What is NAF?

Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) is an instrumentality of the United States Government. NAF provides Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) activities and the Navy Gateway Inns and Suites (NGIS) lodging program for uniformed military personnel, civilian, military retirees, and their families. NAF organizations contribute to the financial support of various MWR/NGIS programs.
